Companies in Emerging Sectors and Traditional Sectors must incorporate both internationalization and innovation in order to become more competitive. At the same time, the territory, the city, must provide improved infrastructure and services so that companies can generate wealth and employment. The city of Barcelona, a global business platform, has created specialized areas of the city in response to these challenges, both in an urban aspect of the knowledge economy, 22@, and in reconverting areas in Barcelona’s Zona Franca with good connections to the Port, Airport and Mediterranean corridor.
