On October 15, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia will start up their new Executive MBI (Master in Business Innovation), in order to foster innovation and entrepreneurship as key factors in business management and success.
This new program aims to provide professionals with top-notch training based on solid scientific and technological knowledge, a clear vision of the economy and the ability to face future challenges in their organizations. It will give them an up-to-date view of strategic business management techniques and concepts regarding organization, technology, innovation and ICT.
The main objective of the Master’s degree is for executives to learn to manage growth in their organizations through innovation and not a reduction of costs. Therefore, and taking as a model the case of Open Innovation, the course will be based on the idea that managing a company nowadays means managing its potential for innovation.
The profile of this degree fits executives or professionals with executive potential, those that have managed a functional division of a company, department heads or technicians in industrial and service companies, and those that aim to redirect their career towards a more strategic job position.
Francesc Solé Parellada, chair at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and head of the UPC’s INNOVA program, and Miquel Barceló Roca, president of Innopro Global Services and CEO of the b_TEC Foundation, will lead the new degree. Other figures from the business world will also participate in the training sessions, including experienced executives from national and international companies and renowned experts in innovation management.
