For their next “Digital economy debate”, the Barcelona Digital Technology Center is organizing a series of presentations focusing on the wide range of functions currently available on mobile devices, mainly payment for products or services, and will present the "Mobile Shopping Sitges 2010" pilot program.
Agenda of "Mobile shopping: First experience in Spain of mobile payment in retail establishments":
Speaker: Mr. Andrea Fiorentino, development manager - Mobile Marketing for VISA Europe We will have the chance to learn about the current state of the European market, aspects related to interoperability, and other issues regarding mobile payment.

Speaker: Mr. Ángel David García Barrio, head of M2M and Transnational services for Telefónica In this presentation we will analyze how NFC technology works and its probable evolution in the near future.
10:25 - 11:00h
Speaker: Mr. David Urbano, head of Mobile Development for e-"laCaixa" Financial institutions are key in launching and boosting the use of mobile services. In Spain, "la Caixa" has been a pioneer in developing and starting up a pilot project in retail establishments. We will get a first-hand look at the aims and scope of this project, how the communication campaign has been rolled out, the training implemented with clients and retail establishments, and, most importantly, the first results.
