The University of Pompeu Fabra is organizing a meeting of companies at their communication campus as part of the 10th anniversary of their Polytechnic School and the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DTIC) on Friday 20 November.
This year is the tenth anniversary of the Polytechnic School, created to train computer and telecommunication engineers as well as technical engineers in the same subjects. After a number of graduating classes, feedback from companies is very positive, not only regarding their technical training but also their transversal abilities and, above all, their teamwork and leadership skills.
UPF, which has adapted their degrees to the European Higher Education Area (EEES), in conjunction with the DTIC, structures their academic offering around three degrees (Telematics, Audiovisual Systems and Computer Science). Furthermore, they plan to include a new degree in Biomedical Engineering, in addition to the Research Masters in Sound and Music Computing and Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media and the Masters in Strategic ICT Management.
The Department of Information and Communication Technology (DTIC) also carries out cutting-edge research on an international level with their fifteen research groups covering different fields of ICT applied to audiovisual media and biomedical engineering through doctoral and post-doctoral training.
UPF Communication moved to the Barcelona Media Park area of the 22@Barcelona district, allowing them to have more dynamic interaction with companies in the area. As a result, they will hold the aforementioned meeting of companies.
