More than 150 businesses and researchers from the Nanotechnology sector
participated in the latest 22@Synergys meeting, organized by
22@Barcelona with collaboration from
Kimbcn, at the
Trends in Nanotechnology congress: TNT-2009, which was held 7 to 11 September 2009 at the ONCE headquarters (Gran Via de la Corts Catalanes, 400).
The
22@SynergyS program organizes business meetings and work sessions in conjunction with congresses or other science and technology events held in Barcelona.
22@SynergyS gave researchers attending the conference the opportunity to learn about the challenges and needs of local companies like
SEAT, companies that use nanotechnology to develop medical solutions like
Endor and
ActiVery, chemical treatment company
Chemetall, and the delegation of the
Damm Group. These companies presented the technology challenges they face, looking to establish solutions based on cutting-edge technology and generate innovative projects. Afterwards, the more than 50 Barcelona-based companies that attended 22@SynergyS got a first-hand look at current trends in nanotechnology, shared their challenges and networked with the more than one hundred researchers that participated in the event.
The 22@SynergyS program was created to make the most of events connected to the knowledge economy that are held in Barcelona, making networking opportunities into business opportunities and encouraging innovative dynamics. The program seeks to bring the worlds of research and business closer together, fostering collaboration between the international scientific community and Catalan companies in order to allow the economic sector to benefit from cutting-edge research, generate new business opportunities and attract talent to Barcelona.
This was the third event held by the 22@SynergyS program, which is preparing a number of other activities in the fields with
clusters in 22@Barcelona: ICT, Medical Technology, Media, Design and Energy.
Trends in Nanotechnology CongressThe
Trends in Nanotechnology Congress (TNT), with over 400 participants including national and international nanotechnology researchers, was held last week at the ONCE headquarters (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 400) and aimed to highlight the importance of Catalan nanoscience and nanotechnology on national and European levels.
This top scientific meeting discussed the latest trends as well as related institutional policies, including those from the European Commission.
