Design has become key in product and service innovation for many organizations in the new knowledge economy. Joan Vinyets, founding partner of A Piece of Pie and expert in strategic design and creativity, will analyze how design has contributed to the way we think – design thinking - and to the innovation process - human centered approach- in these organizations. Vicente Guallart, director of the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia and 22@ Innovator of the month, will present a case study of innovation in the design process: digital manufacturing. This technology allows anyone to be a designer and manufacture their own products.
