A delegation from 22@Barcelona, in conjunction with
Biocat (the
BioRegion of Catalonia), participated in the
BIO Congress in Atlanta
(18-21 May 2009), which is the top international meeting of the biotech
sector with over
20,000 participants from 70 countries around the
world.
Biocat coordinated the Catalan presence at the official Spanish pavilion, representing and promoting the sector, showing its latest developments, and reaching business agreements.
22@Barcelona’s participation was organized by the director of Marketing and Communication, Jordi Sacristan, who had the opportunity to present the innovation district to the more than 20,000 attendees.

The Catalan delegation was the largest in Spain, made up of
30 companies and 14 institutions –a total of 90 professionals from the Catalan biotech sector. New this year was a space located in the Catalan pavilion (a speaker’s corner) where companies could present their services or research results at the congress.

18 to 21 May. This year the congress had over 20,000 attendees, including companies and institutions from 70 countries around the world.
