Barcelona Digital Technology Center is pleased to invite you to the eleventh annual BDigital Global Congress, which will be held 18-21 May at the Barcelona CaixaForum and, for the first time, will be free of charge.

BDigital Global Congress is one of the benchmark events on breakthroughs in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and their business, technological and social applications, organized by The Barcelona Digital technology center.

The congress is divided into 10 sessions and will pay special attention to issues linked to the application of ICTs in the fields of safety, health and mobility. Like every year, one session will focus on the challenges posed by the Knowledge Society.


PROGRAM:

Monday 18 May, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

  • First part (9:00 - 11:30): 
"Strategy and vision for the future. The influence of ICTs on our daily life and our professional environment", with top executives from ICT companies and the public administration. Session moderated by journalist Víctor Amela (La Vanguardia).
  • Second part (12:00 - 2:00 pm):
Institutional Act  with:
- Mr. Jordi Ausàs, minister of the Interior and Public Administration (Regional Government of Catalonia).
- Ms. Carme Botifoll, general director of ACC1Ó CIDEM|COPCA (Regional Government of Catalonia).
- Mr. Jordi William Carnes, third deputy mayor of Barcelona.
- Mr. Antoni Massanell, president of Barcelona Digital Technology Center.

Inaugural Conference with Ms. Rahaf Harfoush, President Barack Obama’s new media strategist and co-director of the Davos Forum’s online platform.    
BDigital Awards Ceremony for Digital Innovation and Knowledge City. Presented by Raquel Sans (Catalonia Television).

  • Third part (4:30 - 6:00 pm):
Presentation of the TIC.CAT plan and the study "The ICT business sector in Catalonia 2008"  with:
- Mr. Jordi Ausàs, minister of the Interior and Public Administration (Regional Government of Catalonia).
- Mr. Josep Huguet, minister of Innovation, Universities and Enterprise  (Regional Government of Catalonia).
- Mr. Josué Sallent, general director of the Information Society - STSI, (Regional Government of Catalonia).
