BARCELONA, CITY OF KNOWLEDGE
Barcelona is willing to position itself in the first positions of the economic sectors with more opportunities rooting back, once again, its tradition of private-public cooperation. Having this objective in mind, Barcelona provides for ten platforms of private-public cooperation for international promotion of sectors with future of which Barcelona has a positive differential as regards to other cities.
Within this context, Barcelona outstands as a City of knowledge –a strategy promoted by the City Council and all the economic, social, institutional sectors and universities – where the human capital and the knowledge management are its main assets. The project consists of creating a privileged framework that will allow the most dynamic local companies to develop their initiatives and to establish a differential model of city in order to bring in the emergent sectors of the economy; strategic sectors for the international ranking of the metropolitan area.
