Barcelona, 27th May, 2008 and Madrid, 29th May, 2008.

The aim of the Day is to carry out a conference of analysis and debate on the current situation of women within the innovation field, to think about gender problems that need to be faced and to exchange opinions about the policies that can contribute to increase the feminine presence in the science and technological field.

According to the latest statistics edited by the Statistics Institute of the UNESCO, women only represent the fourth part of the researchers of the world, around 10% of university professors, less than 5% of members of the Academies of Science and Technology, and less than 3% to be awarded the Nobel Science Prize. This data reflects the evident disparity existent between women and men in the scientific and technology fields.

The aim of Asia Innov@ 2008 is to carry out a conference of analysis and debate on the current situation of women within the innovation field, to think about gender problems that need to be faced and to exchange opinions about the policies that can contribute to increase the feminine presence in the science and technological field.
