Barcelona, October 17. - 22@Barcelona has started up a new year of its Educational Project, which will allow more than one hundred young people from eleven professional training centers, mainly in Sant Martí and the surrounding areas, to do internships at companies located in the innovation district.

The goal of this initiative is to allow students from the professional training centers in and around Sant Martí to do their internships in local companies, thanks in part to the collaboration of the 22@Network, the Association of Businesses and Institutions in 22@Barcelona.

The Educational Project was started in 2005 in order to foster a continuous interaction between local professional training centers and the economic activity centered in the 22@Barcelona district. 

This initiative aims to promote innovative and open professional training, strike a balance between training offered and real demand, facilitate social and professional integration of young people, sponsor school-to-work transition projects, show companies the type of training offered by centers in their area and allow the centers to discover what specific types of training these companies need.

The eleven Professional Training Centers that are participating in this year.s program are: IES Joan d.Àustria, IES Poblenou, IES Fòrum 2004, IES Salvador Seguí, IES Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, IES Josep Serrat i Bonastre, IES Rambla Prim, ETP El Clot, Centre d.Estudis Roca, Centre d.Estudis Monlau and Escola Túrbula.

These centers offer degrees in administrative management, commerce, sports and physical activity sciences, computer systems administration, administration and finance, among others.
