Urban management is the element that allows approved plans to come to fruition. Since the 22@Barcelona project was approved, 22 collaborating urban-planning institutions have been created, seven of these during 2007 (those corresponding to Subsections 8, 10 and 11 of the Llull Pujades West Plan as well as those for the Fitó, La Sibèria and l’Escocesa blocks). In this time, 68 management tools have also been approved, 10 of them in 2007. Also in 2007, three complementary legal operations were processed, as were seven new land re-parceling projects.
On the other hand, since the 22@Barcelona project was approved, six direct land occupations with approved planning have been processed and three rezoning requests have been granted in order to stimulate transformations. Four urban-planning and heritage agreements have also been drawn up and 22@Barcelona has participated in other collaboration agreements. This means that 534,579 m2 of land have a defined urban management process, of which 170,319 m2 will be dedicated to new types of production, 136,526 m2 to facilities and open spaces and 30,549 m2 to new subsidized housing.
Also noteworthy were the acquisition of the industrial warehouse at 165 Almogàvers Street and the assignment and transfer of the Peace and Justice Cooperative building, as well as the adhesion to agreements with the Zona Franca Consortium (Media-TIC building), the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia (new headquarters), the Pompeu Fabra University and the Barcelona Media Foundation; all three part of the Audiovisual Campus.
Likewise, since the 22@Barcelona project was approved, building permits have been awarded to construct 703,159m2 of productive spaces, 111,971 m2 of facilities and 175,077 m2 of housing.
