22@Barcelona offered their support during 2007-2009 for the completion of new business projects through the  UGAP service (Unidad de Gestión para Ayudas a Proyectos – Management Unit for assistance with Projects). The objective of said unit is to make it easier to access different assistance and subsidies from autonomous, state and European authorities for local businesses requiring public financing for strategic projects. 
 
In 2010, the Economic promotion Area of the Barcelona Town Hall started a new service:  InnoActiva which, from Barcelona Activa, the local development agency of the Barcelona Town Hall, will be at the disposition of  small and medium businesses of Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
 
InnoActiva aims to  increase the possibilities of access to public finance for  R+D+I projects through the assessment and support to companies in the city in their project proposals with the handling of assistance and subsidies and the support for justifications before various authorities and public institutions.

The service is aimed at the PIMEs (small and medium companies) situated in Barcelona that are carrying out a  R+D+I  Activity or that, in order to commence, need  specialized support in order to identify and manage the mechanisms of finance that better adapts to their necessities..
