22@Education project  emerges in 2006 and is aimed at fostering and promoting continous interaction among professional education institutions of Sant Martí district and the economic activity of 22@Barcelona. Its goal is to promote innovative and open professional training by means of the fitting of training into existing business demand, favouring social and professional work insertion of young people, promoting school-work projects, helping companies to meet the kind of training that takes place around them, and at the same time, helping education centres to know the specific training that these companies require.

Under 22@Barcelona Education Project, and as its main activity, the programme called Training specialities has started off that tries to bring together vocational training students of Sant Martí district training centres with the companies of the area so that they are able to carry out their in-company practice in the companies of the territory.

The 22@Barcelona Education project has been warmly welcomed, both by education institutions  and by the businesses, and so figures talk. By the middle of 2007, 124 students have already carried out their in-company practice in a total of 39 companies  of the area, in a wide range of possibilities; Computer science and Administration specialities being the most requested.

Furthermore, during this 2007 new initiatives are to be promoted such as the Company Staying (visits and stays of the teachers of collaborating institutions to district companies) and the joining of productive system experts as trainers.
